Central Bank of Boone County
Strength in Numbers Small Business Campaign
Central Bank of Boone County is a major champion of local businesses — and makes sure the community is aware. They ran a simple campaign with TV and radio spots to highlight some of the work they’ve done.
ProsperU Advertorials
ProsperU offers free financial education classes on topics ranging from basic budgeting to starting your own business. This young program is already making a huge impact on the community, as explored in the below advertorials. I also wrote radio scripts that were read by the program’s director on local stations.
Race to the Reveal Scavenger Hunt
In 1969, Central Bank of Boone County (then Boone County National Bank) buried a rocket-shaped time capsule outside of its new Fountain Lobby.
In 2019, it was time to open it.
To mark the occasion, the bank asked us to create a contest to get the community excited and involved. We developed a scavenger hunt that covered the bank’s entire local footprint and called it "Operation Legacy: Race to the Reveal.” Celebrating the past, present and future of the region, we used the Scavify app and created 50 challenges that revolved around local businesses, regional history and the bank’s branches.
Some of the challenges:
They come in pints?! Visit CoMO Growlers & Pints and ask a team member what the strangest beer they've ever carried was called.
Annie Fisher was known across Missouri as a successful black business woman, thanks to her biscuits. Take a photo of the marker where her house once stood, along the African-American Heritage Trail.
The Classic Club is taking a trip in October to see a race in the sky. Find out where at the Central Bank of Boone County Motor Bank Branch on Providence and tell us the event.
In addition to the hunt, itself, we created a stunning landing page, recorded a radio spot and developed PR tactics to promote the opening of the old time capsule and the burial of a new one.
We had more than 100 participants in the scavenger hunt — including multiple that completed all 50 challenges! — and the reveal party was packed with members of the community. Among them, of course, was our $1,000 prize winner.
